Richard DeNapoli for Florida State Representative

Richard DeNapoli, a Florida native, is a Republican candidate for State Representative in Florida’s 74th district. He has a long history of serving the citizens of Florida in the private sector and public sector, and his academic and professional expertise have prepared him well for serving in the Florida House of Representatives. Richard’s family is the keystone for understanding the needs of Sarasota County.

Richard was raised by his maternal grandparents but not before he spent a year in foster care. He graduated from New York University in 1999 with a degree in politics and in 2002 he earned his first law degree from Fordham Law School. After returning to Florida, Richard became a prosecutor for Orange County where he specialized in third degree felonies. However, when his grandfather passed away in 2003, Richard left his position to aid his grandmother.

Richard DeNapoli earned his second degree in law from the University of Miami School of Law in 2008, and he has since continued to build an impressive resume. Besides establishing a private legal practice, Richard has also worked as a mortgage broker and as a realtor. As a Trust and Investment Officer for Northern Trust, Richard worked on a team managing $1.8 billion in assets.

Richard has also served multiple terms as Commissioner and as Chairman of the Florida Real Estate Commission. In addition to these Florida Senate confirmed positions, Richard also has experience as Treasure and Chairman of the Republican Party in Broward County. While serving as Chair of the Republican Party in Broward, Richard worked hard to ensure fair and accessible voting for all citizens. Noting that distance impedes voter turnout, Richard helped move polling stations closer to voters. He also protected the institution from fraud by inspecting then purging deceased citizens from the voter rolls.

Richard DeNapoli seeks to represent Florida’s 74th district with the help and support of his wife, Brigita. Together they raise their son Victor, who turns two in August. His candidacy has received endorsements from many State Representatives, including Neil Combee, Dane Eagle, and Heather Fitzeenhagen.
